The Mentelity Games is one of the largest events of the Bibian Mentel Foundation, a unique ski and snowboard event for people with a physical challenge. During the Mentelity Games, we let participants experience that they can do much more than they think. And that winter sports are accessible to everyone; also for people with a visual challenge, we have created opportunities thanks to AXIWI.
Blind and visually impaired participants who join the Mentelity Games all receive an individual guide during the lessons. They stay in contact with each other through the AXIWI communication systems. Through directions and tips, the participants come safely down the mountain with the help of the guides and the sets. The Bibian Mentel Foundation is very grateful to AXIWI for the support of the event.

Experiences with AXIWI®
“Thanks to the AXIWI communication system, I could communicate well with my guide while skiing. This makes it possible for me to place my trust in him and enjoy all the descents! And this year, even a ride on a snowmobile was possible – through the AXIWI, my guide told me which direction to steer, an awesome experience!”
Iris Farla, participant Mentelity Games 2024
“I find it so remarkable to see how the blind participants go down the mountain! They place their trust in the hands of their guide. We are very happy with this collaboration with AXIWI so that we can create opportunities for everyone!”

More info: Wireless communication system for people with visual impairments
People with a visual impairment cannot see everything or cannot see at all. This makes performing certain activities difficult and in some cases even impossible. For various activities, visually impaired people are helped by a guide. Despite intensive guidance, a guide may need a communication system for better assistance and communication between the guide and the impaired person. This way, the activity can be carried out optimally.
